The exhibition of artworks by Enzo Rosamilia “Through pages of Russian literature: Chekhov, Bulgakov, Gogol” opened in Rome on May 18, 2023. Address: Rome, piazza Benedetto Cairoli, 6. The entrance is free.
Chekhov, Bulgakov, Gogol are the authors who inspired Enzo Rosamilia to create artworks dedicated to Russian literature.
The novel Master and Margarita written by Mikhail Bulgakov in 1940 is still one of the most famous and beloved books in the world. It has been translated into English, Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Japanese and many other languages. Italian was one of the first on this list.
Enzo worked on the collection based on this novel for two years — from 2017 to 2019. He used a unique technique for these artworks and printed them on a hand-made Amalfi paper. Enzo exhibited the collection at the Bulgakov House-Museum in Moscow and in other Russian cities.
Another series — “Through the mirrors: Chekhov” — was successfully presented in Taganrog, Rostov and Moscow.
Recently, the maestro has completed a collection of surreal artworks based on the stories of Nikolai Gogol.
The exhibition, bringing together artworks from these collections, opened on May 18, 2023 with a lecture “Journey through the pages of Russian literature” by Rita Giuliani, Russian-literature lector at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Rita is the author of numerous monographs on Russian literature of the 19th and 20th centuries.
